Highly entertaining and absolutely recommended if you like a good burlesque show. Great artists, high production value and the atmosphere is delicious. The entire ensemble was a joy to watch perform but the stand outs were little red, the belly dancer with excellent balancing skills, the two singers and the towering gentleman that just reminded me of officer Crabtree, yes, that is an allo allo reference. In all, we had a ball there and may look into going for nutcracker rouge.
El MedalAugust 13, 2026The Nutcracker Rouge at Théâtre XIV is easily one of the best and most unique shows I’ve seen in Brooklyn. The performances, costumes, music, acrobatics, and overall production are incredible. It’s intimate and immersive, so you feel much closer to the performance than at a traditional theater. The Nutcracker theme is completely reimagined into something artistic, playful, and visually spectacular. Such a fun experience and definitely not your typical night at the theater. I’d absolutely see The Nutcracker here again.

I have been to this venue for several shows, including Queen of Hearts, The Nutcracker, Petite Rouge, and their other show/venue Cocktail Magique. The atmosphere is divine, the artistry and level of performance is spectacular. The music and singers there are amazing (special shoutout to Lindsay Rose and Pepper Solana— they are ROYALTY). Oh, darling, and the cocktails are to die for! You'll find nothing that is as sensuous, fun, and magical as this place. Great for a friend's outing or date or EVEN by yourself. You'll want to come time and time again.

Always an absolute delight. I've been here multiple times, a couple of times to see Nut Cracker Rouge, to see the Alice in Wonderland show, and now to see the newest riff on Red Riding Hood, Petit Rouge. Each show is choreographed by someone employed by XIV. This is unique and you won't see it anywhere else (anyone old enough to remember the mass produced cheer routines from Bring it On?) This is truly a welcoming space, everyone can come here and be themselves. The bodies are lithe, svelte, glistening, beautiful. The acrobatics can't be matched. I am always astounded at the beauty of the erotic ballet numbers. I think those are my favorite part. The deep, soulful vocals of the diva singers can't be forgotten either. I think I've said before, I've done the couples couches and the small chairs along the stage. The small chairs are a better value and really a better view for most things, unless something is from the ceiling behind you. You can also upgrade with things like champagne and cocktails. But overall, if you get one of the small stage seats, a very affordable night out. And you can kill some time across the street at JukeBar (reviewed separately).

Breathtaking & sexy acrobatic performances on Lyra & straps. For visitors: It's a breeze to get to the location via subway (which matters!) The venue is a portal back in time which sets the stage for an unforgettable night. Thank you performers!

Chris LeeDecember 17, 2025I went to see “The Nutcracker Rouge” yesterday on my birthday, and the performers/staff, Company XIV, provided a fanfare of a show. It was everything I hoped it would be, and more. The entire ensemble, the atmosphere, the theatrics, the raw talent, truly invested in the libertine experience that brought magic on an otherwise cold and wintry world outside those doors. The performers were beyond anyone’s expectations. Indeed if you came with any, they were promptly discarded. It was clear to see that the performers were devoted, dedicated, and limitlessly talented in their craft. We were privileged to witness genius at work in each and every performance. Everything flowed beautifully with rich storytelling and cadence. It was breathtaking to witness. The facilities are a dream. Everything was clean, neat, orderly, and the patrons were kind, as well as the staff. The decor and overall atmosphere truly gave anticipation to what was to occur. This was a very well laid out and thought out exhibition that encouraged the mind to wonder, and wander. I will definitely be coming back to future performances. This was a truly magical affair🪄✨🎩.

From beginning to end, it was a dazzling feast for the senses. The acrobatics, ballet, vocals, choreography, and burlesque elements were all executed with incredible precision, passion, and artistry, leaving me completely captivated. The show masterfully intertwines circus artistry with ballet, opera, burlesque, and theater in a way that feels intricate yet effortless. Every costume was a vibrant masterpiece, and the attention to detail in the production design added an extra layer of magic to the performance. I laughed, cheered, and sat in awe at the sheer talent displayed by every single performer. What truly sets Nutcracker Rouge apart is its celebration of inclusivity and diversity. The representation of LGBTQ+ identities, plus-sized women, and a variety of body types was not only inspiring but also profoundly moving. It radiates positivity, embracing the beauty of different sexualities and gender expressions while creating a space that is joyful, colorful, and affirming. Hillari S.January 3, 2025Nutcracker Rouge by Company XIV was so amazing! We LOVED it. Not for everyone!! There are many aerialists, variety show acts, beautiful tap dancers, talented singers, and even men on (ballet) point! The story loosely follows the original Nutcracker, but in a "naughty" way. You will see everyone's full butts, boobs with pasties, Gstrings and strap-on dildos on men, etc. This is not a show for your grandma or kids (21yo+ only) as there is a lot of nudity and sexual references. If that's too much for you, this is not your show. It was perfect for us! A bonus is that "House of Yes" and "Cocktail Magique" are literally around the corner, so we did back to back shows on Dec 22, 2024. We went to this one at 03:00 pm (Doors open: 02:30 pm). The performance is 2 hours including two intermissions. Then, we had 30 minutes to grab a slice of pizza down the street before we went to HoY. There is NO LATE SEATING. All late arrivals will be seated during the first intermission. This production utilizes strobe lights, haze and incense. The bar at Théâtre XIV serves Champagne, Cocktails, Wine, Beer and small treats (chips, cookies, nuts, etc). The coat room is self-served with no one monitoring it (honor system). You can wear whatever you are comfortable in and can feel comfortable dressing scandalous or extra, as that is the vibe here. There is one shared multi-stall bathroom for all genders, so if you have issues with that, this is not only NOT a show for you, but you will not be welcome here. Go see the Rockettes instead. Our seats were front row (Row A, Seats 5&6) bellied up to the stage, so you put your drinks on the stage! It is a unique perspective because the stage comes about chest high. See my pics for the view from the front row on the left side of the stage. We paid $152.50 total because they were having a BOGO sale for Black Friday (normally, that's the price per ticket where we sat). Hindsight, the couches for two looked the most comfortable and still a good view. I would not want to be in the second back half of the theater, unless funds are tight (then better to see it than not).

You truly have to go for yourself. It's a sultry, intimate, smoky, sexy, safe, accepting community. I got the stage-side center seat this time instead of the champagne couch because the last couple of times, I always felt like tall people were blocking some of my views or shots. Honestly, I feel like the stage-side seats are better and much cheaper overall, especially if you're a single person (once I bought two seats just for myself, the second time I invited a friend but still paid for both seats). Still a wonderful time that I would recommend to anyone, but I do think last year's Nutcracker Rouge was more festive and diverse. Though remnants of last year's show remain. That being said, I really appreciate XIV did something different so it wasn't the exact same show, but I hope they ramp it up in the future. I know it's hard to go upward from perfection, but *fingers crossed*!
Cara T.December 6, 2024Nutcracker Rouge continues to be a holiday must do for me and my friends! Every year, the show is a little different and it is always a fun, sexy night out! I love dressing up, getting some drinks, and watching the incredible performers. There are a few intermissions, which allows you to get more drinks and talk with friends. It truly feels like a show but with time to socialize and have fun in between! I can't wait to come back next year! The tickets can be pricey, but we got a great deal by using TodayTix.
