Randall Scotting

Randall grew up in Colorado, studying cello from a young age while performing musical theater; he eventually trained as a classical singer at universities in Colorado and Indiana, the Juilliard Opera Center, and as a Fulbright Scholar at the Liszt Ferenc Music Academy in Budapest.  Currently, he is completing a PhD in Baroque operatic performance at the Royal College of Music in London.  As a countertenor, Randall has recorded and sung leading roles at many opera houses internationally and across the United States, and he continues to explore a variety of musical genres beyond opera, ranging from Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire to Hungarian and Italian folk songs to vocal improvisation with Bobby McFerrin at Carnegie Hall.  The chance to sing Leonard Cohen while performing a strip tease in Company XIV’s PARIS! was both liberating and thrilling.  www.randallscotting.com
